Plenty of people look for an AI consultant or advisor. What they usually need is someone who not only explains what is possible, but makes it. That is what I do: I join temporarily and deliver something that works.

Advice, or something that runs
A consulting engagement ends with a document and a presentation. That is not worthless — but with AI it ages faster than it gets read, and nobody in the organisation has used the thing. Afterwards the conversation is still about what AI could do.
I work the other way around. First understand what is going on, then work out one idea into something that runs on your data. The conversation after that is no longer about whether AI can do something, but about whether this delivers enough to continue.
That makes the decision easier and cheaper. Keep building, adjust or stop — you decide holding something, instead of holding a recommendation.
How an engagement runs
No stage gates, but a fixed order.
- Walking along — I talk to the shop floor and to management and collect what actually costs time. Not what the annual plan says.
- Choosing — one idea together: not the one with the prettiest demo, but the one most likely to actually get used.
- Building — a working first version on your data is usually there within a week. After that we sharpen it based on what the users think of it.
- Deciding — keep building, adjust or stop. If a phase does not produce a working proof of concept, that phase costs you nothing.
What you will not get here
No strategy document that ends up in a drawer, no roadmap for two years out, no governance track. If that is what you need, I am not the right person. If you want someone who shows within weeks what AI concretely delivers for you, I am.
Where I work
I work from Zwolle and walk along with you one to three days a week: with the shop floor, with management, in the place where the work happens. Within Overijssel, Gelderland and Flevoland that is easy to arrange; beyond that it usually works with one fixed day on site and the rest remote.

What it costs, and when it costs nothing
One rate: € 150 per hour on eight-hour days, excluding VAT. Two days a week for three months comes to € 28,800. No quoting rounds, no small print, and you can stop monthly — hours worked are simply invoiced.
Against that stands the guarantee: if a phase does not produce a working proof of concept, that phase costs you nothing. We agree upfront what it has to do, so afterwards there is no debate about what "working" means.

What people ask about this
- So I get no advice at all?
- You do — just not as the end product. Along the way you hear continuously what I see and why I would or would not do something. What you have at the end is that conversation plus something that runs, instead of a document in which it is written down.
- How much of our people’s time does this take?
- Noticeably much, and that is the intention. I have to become part of the team; without that involvement you build something that is technically correct but nobody uses. Expect regular contact with the people who will use it, and a fixed contact who can make decisions.
- What if nothing worthwhile comes out of it?
- Then I say so, and that is the result. Knowing an idea is not worth building — established in a few weeks — is cheaper than working on it for a year. And if a phase does not produce a working proof of concept, that phase costs you nothing.
