Why being nearby matters for this work
Embedded work means being there. The best ideas rarely come out of an intake meeting; they come from the remark someone makes in passing while you sit next to them. "We do this by hand every Monday morning." At a distance you never hear that sentence.
So I work on site, and that is why the distance to Zwolle counts. One to three days a week at the office is a very different thing at half an hour’s travel than at two hours — for you as much as for me.
What a week looks like
One to three days at your office: watching, building together, showing what is there. The rest of the week building on remotely, with short lines over Slack or Google Workspace. Every one or two weeks I sit down with the fixed contact to decide whether we continue, adjust or stop.
What I bring is not a team but pace: the first working version is usually there within a week, so the conversation after that is about something real instead of about a plan.
A developer, or someone who validates first?
If your specification is settled and you mainly need hands, hiring a developer is the right call — and probably cheaper than me. If you do not yet know exactly what should be built, that is where my value sits: I work that out with you and then build it myself.

- Do you work outside the Zwolle region?
- Yes. Within Overijssel, Gelderland and Flevoland I am at the office without any fuss; beyond that it usually works with one fixed day on site and the rest remote. Fully remote is what I would rather avoid — that is exactly how you miss the conversations that matter.
- Can you work within our IT policy?
- Usually yes, but my preference is an isolated environment of my own for the proof of concept, so we do not get stuck on internal policy while we are still finding out whether something works. Where the data lives we decide together; a data processing agreement is part of onboarding.
- How many days a week are you there?
- One to three, depending on what is needed. I work for two clients at a time at most, so those days really are yours.
